NANCY HENRY-PRESIDENT
Hi, my name is Nancy Henry and I am serving as the President
of Cloud
Nine. I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky and am now
an Associate
Professor in the Department of English at Binghamton University. I learned
about Cloud Nine and the extraordinary role it plays in the lives of
children and horses in 2005 and immediately wanted to become part of Pat’s
team of volunteers. The role of the board is to help Cloud Nine continue
its mission of teaching children and horses to work together for the
benefit of both. I want particularly to find new ways of raising funds to
pursue the ultimate goal of expanding the facilities and the program so
that even more people and animals in our community may benefit from the
wonderful cooperative experience of therapeutic riding.
DIANE FLUEGEL- PARENT ADVOCATE
Hi my name is Diane Fluegal.
I was born and raised in the Triple Cities area. Married with 5 children I have had the opportunity to be involved in many child centered functions. I am a hairdresser by trade, which give me the chance to meet and socialize with many local people. My youngest son's love of horses brought me to Cloud Nine. My fear of horses has made it a challenge to be a part of the barn ritual, however I feel right at home helping to foster a place that helps and supports children.
KELLY YOUNG- TREASURER
Originally from Watkins Glen N.Y. I am a second grade teacher for the Vestal Schools. I have always loved animals and have worked as a volunteer at several shelters. Because of my work at shelters I have adopted 2 beagles and a beagle, basset cross. I have learned "clicker training" and enjoy the time I spend with my dogs teaching them new things. I have always loved horse but have never been able to get up close because of allergies, however at Cloud Nine I can be a volunteer and enjoy the beauty of the horses, as well as, help children.
MAGGIE PERROTTE- SECRETARY
Hi, my name is Maggie Perrotte and I hold the Secretarial
position on the board. I am a physical therapist assistant
currently working in an orthopedic setting. I have been married
for nineteen years to a wonderful man and we have an eleven-year-old
boy named Benjamin. Ben is the reason I became involved with
Cloud Nine. Our son has special needs and Cloud Nine has been
a Godsend to us and especially to him. I was honored to be
asked to join the board of directors and jumped at the chance
to contribute to this organization. I am excited to watch
it grow and know that it will help countless children in need.
TRACY LIGOURI- COMMUNITY RELATIONS
I have always sought to combine my love of publicity
work with my interests in my two favorite things: kids and
horses! As a teenager, I lived on a farm, then went on to college to
receive my A.S. in Human Services and my B.S. in Mass
Communications. My first job was working in a group home with
people with disabilities. From
there, my career has spanned over 30 years to include supervising
programs for the disabled, as a caseworker for
victims of sexual abuse, director of our local Court Appointed
Special Advocate program, Victim Advocate working with crime
victims and now as the coordinator of the Broome County Integrated
Domestic Violence Court. I also helped a friend with the
layout and design of her children's book, "Laughlie," which
addresses one of the biggest issues facing our nation, youth
suicide, and created and/or maintained several websites for the
agencies for which I worked.
I was delighted to learn of equine therapy and then to find Cloud Nine so
close by, and look forward to making "Cloud Nine Therapeutic Riding
Center" a household name!
