Our horses at Cloud Nine are what make our children smile
and we value their health and well-being. The therapeutic
riding services at Cloud Nine would not be the same without
our happy, healthy horses. Several of the horses that are
at Cloud Nine are rescue horses or horses in retirement. It
is the philosophy of Cloud Nine that all horses deserve a
safe home where they are well cared for. Our staff is committed
to providing this environment to every horse there. As a not-for-profit
organization we rely on the people of our community to support
our program and our horses. You can help by choosing to adopt
a horse of your choice for one year. By adopting a horse you
can cover the complete care of the horse or a portion of the
total cost.
Any donation amount is helpful to our program. If you are interested in helping a horse, any amount will help us to provide them with the best care possible. Please contact us today and let us know which horse you would like to help.
Complete Care for One Year (includes feed, vet/health):
$1600.00
Feed: $1200
Vet: $400
* Adoption is to help defray the cost of maintenance of the horse only. You will not own or be able to use the horse for your own personal activities. The horse's ownership and use remains with Cloud Nine T.R.C., Inc.

Annie
Annie was born Net Queen in Kentucky in
1998. Her father's name was Launch a Leader and
her mother's name was Lottie Dodd. Neither of her
parents ever raced, but her older half-brother, Net
King, who was the son of Lottie Dodd and Screen
King, raced 56 times and won over $74,000. An
Illinois native, he ran at some major tracks like
Arlington Park in Chicago under some of the best jockeys
in the country. Net Queen was born about the time
her bother retired. Her racing career began as a
three year old at Tampa Bay Downs (April , 2001)
She was a sprinter like her brother and most of her
races were 5 or 6 furlongs. From Florida, Annie
traveled to Canada and raced at a respectable track
called Woodbine in Toronto. Then she moved down a
peg to Fort Erie Racetrack in Fort Erie, Ontario, where
she hit the board for the first time coming in third (to
show) on August 6, 2001. She won $1,290. Her
trainer (also her owner, Samuel J. Kayrouze) must have
thought she was primed to win because he raced her
without much rest twelve days later, but she didn't do
so well. Next he took her to Finger Lakes, our own
local racetrack, which is how she ended up in this
area. She didn't do well there either. She
came in eighth in her last race on October 22,
2001. I imagine that poor Annie's arthritis had
begun to bother her by then. How luck y she is to
have found the home she now has. (Many thanks to Nancy
Henry for telling Annie's story.)
